COMMERCIAL CREATIVE CRITICAL REFLECTION
How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
My project has kept the standard of similar productions as part of the development. This is most evident in our use of media images of the actor's actions. My use of camera movement was like in productions as well, as we use shot tracking a lot, whether it's on the ball, the product, or the athlete. However, we deviated from basic conventions by using only non-diegetic sound. This commercial was produced to showcase a product that would help athletes and athletes establish themselves and endure in the world of sport. This commercial shows this group that there is a product that is perfectly adapted to them and their needs. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My project would be distributed during commercial breaks at weekend game sporting events. The decision to distribute the commercial over the weekend would be more appealing to children's viewers, as they are more likely to watch television on the weekends than at night games during the week. The decision to promote to children is an effective one, as children are likely to ask their parents about a product if they see it as a link to experienced athletes. The commercial would also be advertised in the sports category of YouTube videos. This is because a large number of YouTube video viewers are eager to improve in the sport they are watching. By increasing the athletic performance of the product, there is the possibility of long-term customer loyalty. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? At the beginning of this project, I felt that my skills were mediocre and really needed development. I was also really ineffective in planning ahead and providing my group with the necessary accessories. However, by the second day of filming, my ability felt better, not only in terms of pan and tilt of the camera, but also in my ability to imagine the outcome of a shot before taking it. I went through the same editing process as the first day of editing. I had to constantly search for references to achieve what I imagined easy; But the day after editing, I felt much better and things that I had never noticed started to appear because I took a more relaxed approach to editing. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware, and online – in this project? By creating this commercial, we took advantage of the iPhone's ability to automatically focus on the subject during the commercial, making it more dynamic. We have also used platforms like Gmail to share media that we may be using in our project. The main use of technology in our project was the use of iMovie. This editing software was simple software that would not be too difficult for beginners. This made it easy for us to achieve what we wanted throughout the creative process.
