Editing Blog
With the addition of audio and transitions, I completed editing my commercial today. When I went to YouTube and started viewing other sports drink commercials, I started looking for music. After a few minutes of searching, I came across the artist tiger blood jewels. I chose this artist since they are relatively unknown but produce excellent music. Because of the author's anonymity, the music appears to be an afterthought rather than the focal point of the video. The music also attracted to me because I prefer music without lyrics, especially in videos because it sets the mood.
I found this audio and added it to my audio track, where I started cutting it. I edited it by cutting out the middle of the audio and synchronizing the beat drop with the ad's athletic focus. As a result, I realized that the audio's pitch and speed were insufficient, so I sped it up and lowered the pitch. After that, I tweaked the audio track's positioning to make it work with the video. Then I finalized my audio by increasing the audio levels of the actor kicking the ball so that the link could be heard and the video would be more impactful. As a result, I decided to start adding own transitions to the song.
I began working on the transitions by simply watching the source video without any regular cuts. This aided me since it made the video's quality appear crystal clear without the use of effects, and it also showed me how the advertisement flowed. I swapped the placements of a few clips after I saw how it flowed, and when I saw the newly edited movie, it looked much better even without the use of transitions. Regardless of transition, this attribute inspired me to improve the quality of my job. Then I started adding transitions in the order in which the video went, with some clips taking far longer than others. This change in time was the first obvious warning sign that I was using a mobile editor, as it made it much more difficult to edit to my liking. Regardless, I finished it and accomplished all of my transitions smoothly.
Overall, this day was fantastic for the production of my commercial, as I made incredible progress and completed it. I also learnt a lot about the limitations of the software I use, as well as how clumsy iMovie can be when it comes to transitions.
