Our Pitch

A person receives a briefcase and is unaware of its contents, unbeknownst to him he is being followed.

This pitch has great potential because of its ability to harness the unknown and be action packed in a short period of time. The pitch also conforms well to the settings we have available due to our access to the urban setting. Furthermore this pitch doesn't require props inaccessible to the group making it a great candidate. However, this pitch struggles with a lack of dialogue and it will be difficult to facilitate conversation throughout. I believe that despite this the pitch's positive aspects outweigh the negative ones because its exciting and is mysterious.

A natural disaster knocks out the power in a city, forcing an evacuation but for one man something goes wrong.

This pitch has potential for success because the story presented has a lot of versatility and can go in many ways. The pitch also works well because it adheres to the amenities available to the settings available to my group. However, I believe that the most impactful benefit of this pitch is that this storyline can be created in only a few areas and does not require a lot of movement throughout a setting. While this pitch may seem clear of the other this pitch struggles greatly in the editing process when compared to the other pitch. This is because this pitch requires a much larger amount of editing to create a realistic power outage and these capabilities are out of  our skill level. Similarly to the other pitch this storyline struggles to have dialogue as a survivor story often features only a few stories. Overall this story has its perks however it struggles in the final creative stages of the production process.

The pitch that my group is selecting for the final project is "A person receives a briefcase and is unaware of its contents, unbeknownst to him he is being followed."

My group selected this pitch because it is very versatile and it has a lot of areas for creative input. My group also selected this pitch because it fits the apartment complex setting that we will film in exceptionally through the apartments vast hallways, garage, and elevator. Furthermore this pitch would work best in an urban setting environment which is most accessible to my group. This pitch also requires simple props that are accessible to our group such as a briefcase. Similarly this production does not require expensive and artistic costumes like other films may. The most important and prolific reason for selecting this pitch is because my group felt that the production would allow for the most creative input into the topic and how it can be shaped to represent us. Additionally the storyline has great depth and adaptability which makes the storyline flexible to change and adjustment that may be necessary over time. However, I am aware of the flaws in the difficulty when creating dialogue in this type of storyline.  But overall I believe that this this pitch selection will be most beneficial for my group because it balances a complex story with an attainable goal. I also believe that despite the challenges my group may face when creating the final product I will be successful not only because of individual ability but also because of the thought and care put into selecting a storyline.
