Our Pitches
A young teenager attempting to reach the standards of their perfectionist parents, one day they just cant take it anymore, but they regret certain decisions.
This pitch has great potential because of its ability to harness the unknown and be emotionally connecting. The pitch also conforms well to the audience because there are many teenagers dealing with similar situations 24/7. Furthermore this pitch doesn't require props inaccessible to the group making it a great candidate. However, this pitch struggles with the editing aspect and it will be difficult to cut and edit sounds to conform to the types of shots we will be using. I believe that this pitch's positive aspects outweigh the negative ones because its thrilling and emotional.
A teenage girl goes about her normal school and social life, unbeknownst to the fact that she has a stalker with nothing but bad intentions.
This pitch has potential for success because the story presented has a lot of versatility and can go in many ways. The pitch also works well because it adheres to the amenities available to the settings available to my group. However, I believe that the most impactful benefit of this pitch is that this storyline can be created in only a few areas and does not require a lot of movement throughout a setting. There aren't many struggles to this pitch, but if I had to name one it would be difficulty editing certain important aspects of the movie. Such as making sure the viewers can recognize when the stalker is watching by using a camera lens edit to make it seem stalker-like.
The pitch that my group is selecting for the final project is "A teenage girl goes about her normal school and social life, unbeknownst to the fact that she has a stalker with nothing but bad intentions."
My group selected this pitch because it is very versatile and it has a lot of areas for creative input. My group also selected this pitch because it fits the apartment complex setting that we will film in exceptionally through the apartments vast hallways, garage, and elevator. Furthermore this pitch would work best in an urban setting environment which is most accessible to my group. This pitch also requires simple props that are accessible to our group such as a car or phone. Similarly this production does not require expensive and artistic costumes like other films may. The most important and prolific reason for selecting this pitch is because my group felt that the production would allow for the most creative input into the topic and how it can be shaped to represent us. Additionally the storyline has great depth and adaptability which makes the storyline flexible to change and adjustment that may be necessary over time. However, I am aware of the flaws in the difficulty when creating edits in this type of storyline. But overall I believe that this this pitch selection will be most beneficial for my group because it balances a complex story with an attainable goal. I also believe that despite the challenges my group may face when creating the final product I will be successful not only because of individual ability but also because of the thought and care put into selecting a storyline.
