  Font: For the font we are most likely to use an online font called zorgeous to match the genre. The title will probably be all caps with moderately wide spacing between the letters. Color: The title will consist of 2 colors white and another color that has yet to be determined but will most likely be red. Working Title: Our working title for this film is “Unaware” Titles: The titles will pop up on the bottom and top corner adjacent to each other, while the main title will fade into the middle of the screen as the 2 minutes end. Each title will be about 3-5 seconds depending on the amount of time we have. Titles will appear as typed into the movie and not embedded.

The production companies were the first mentioned. After you could see the title of the movie. It then listed all the actors/actresses in the movie. It continues to name all the producers and in each category of what they produced. It finished with the director.   What connotations do the images carry? The images are maps of the site and news articles. All of the articles allude to some creature, but nobody knows. This creates the mystery for the viewers.  How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? The genre is reinforced throughout the movie because of the actors/actresses ability to continue to solve the mystery. The first title was the name of the production company, which was then followed by the two produces of the film. After this the film lists the name of then director, then the sequence lists the two star actors of the film. This is followed by the listing of actors which is concluded by the mentioning of two casting agents. What connotations do the images carry? The images of the title cards specifically those listing the actors Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee. These cards where particularly striking because the designer made these cards much bigger than the other and added a transparency that shows a spooky scenery behind the text. What connotations do the images carry? The images carry a negative connotation because the images are of someone bleeding and holding a razor blade. Also, they are writing in a diary it seems and they're crossing out young people's faces. This indicates that something bad is happening. The images carry a neutral connotation because the images are just pictures of characters faces. There is no indication of negative or positive emotion on the characters face. The website Art of the Title is a title art website that details and describes the titles sequences. The website conveys these title sequences by showcasing a major story, above this page is a search bar that allows the searcher to look for specific directors and producers. At the bottom of the page the website features stories detailing major things happening in the title design industry. This website also features classic title designs in the search bar along with recommended title screens. Another cool feature of this website is that it allows the viewer to view all title themes in a grid view. These features make the website really useful and the extensive amount of films combined with the articles written about them make this website great for researching titles. However despite all of these features it can be difficult to find movies of a specific genre which mitigates a lot of the websites pros. This movie used a lot of close shots and over the shoulder shots especially when they were talking to the “detectives” of the movie. The close shots were used to show the expression on the character’s face. This allowed for the viewer to determine whether the character looked guilty or innocent. The over the shoulder shot adds the effect of worrisome to the viewer as they are unsure on what is next to come. Theses are both elements that make this movie more of a mystery.      All of the elements added a nice effect to the movie and created a bit more of a mystery aspect. In particular I really enjoyed the acting. The acting gave each character a bit of more personality and made the viewer unable to suspect which one was the murder. The detectives of the movie really made the viewer fell as if they were involved in the investigation.                   This movie contains many close-up shots on individual  character's faces. Usually mystery movies consist of close-up shots to show facial expressions of the character. Typically fear, anger, and sadness are the emotions showed. However, In Knives Out, the characters tend to have confused facial expressions because they clues they run into do not make sense to them. Also, the diegetic sound in this film is similar to traditional mystery movies because of the startling ambient sounds. For example, when the detective is walking through the house, the floorboards creek and clock ticks loudly.                     I really love the low angles in this movie because it shows me which characters are the powerful ones. Normally, low angles are used to portray superiority in a villain but in this case it can apply to the detective. Also, the establishing shot at the start of the movie sets the tone perfectly. It starts out by showing the old mansion in the middle of nowhere

  Elements That Align With The Mystery Genre      This film constantly utilized extreme long shots and establishing shots to reveal information such as the sprawling identical houses in the environment. This type of shots are prominent in mystery films in which the charecters involved often don't understand the nature of the environment and these shots not only provide new information to the audience but also the charecters. This film also utilized tracking shots to follow a charecters movements throughout a take. This was done uniquely however, as the movement was coupled with close up shots at times. This close up was also accompanied by and edited in camera shake which uniquely display a charecters expression and movements. This film also utilized amplified audio features such as volume enhanced footsteps and breathing, these techniques help build suspension and also are used to reveal information to the reader regarding the surrondings of the charects.   For my final project my group has decided to utilized the mystery genre. My group chose this genre after a long period of deliberation not just because of the conventions of the genre but also how the genres traditional aspects match with my pitch. For example this genre fits my pitch because the mystery genres aspects will allow my group to create uncertainty around the main character of our film. This method of creating our film would be much more successful for our when compared to another genre such as a thriller because mystery films do not require as much edited in effects that our out of our capabilities. Camera Angles Common camera angles in Thrillers are high angles, close ups, and tilted. The high angle makes the actor in the camera look vulnerable. Close-ups shows really what the actor's reaction is and how they are feeling. A tilted shot adds dramatic tension to the scene.  Camera Shots Long shots and over the shoulder shots are commonly used in Thrillers. Long shots in Thrillers are used to make something feel far away or unobtainable. The over the shoulder shot builds up tension and suspense. Camera Movements A commonly used camera movement in Thrillers  is tracking. Tracking is used to make an actor look as if they are being watched or followed. Mis-En-Scene In a thriller the costumes are commonly casual. The lighting is usually dim and low. The acting is traditionally worried, scared, and concerned. Commonly low to no make up. The low angle shot intensifies the scene in where whatever is in the frame is perceived as powerful. Camera Shots Extreme close ups and long shots are typically used in action movies. Extreme close ups really focus in on the character’s facial expressions allowing the viewer to create inferences. Long shots allow for the viewer to see how the character is moving around their environment. Camera Movements A commonly used camera movement in action movies are 360-degree motion. This is a 360-degree shot around the entire set which allows the viewer a full view of the set. Mis-En-Scene In an action movie the costumes are commonly either superhero costumes or combat outfits. The lighting is low to give off a sense of danger to the viewer. Traditionally make-up is used to make cuts and bruises on the characters.

This technique is especially prominent in long scenes in which rather than editing from scene to scene a pan allows the director to create a long continuous shot. A person receives a briefcase and is unaware of its contents, unbeknownst to him he is being followed.          This pitch has great potential because of its ability to harness the unknown and be action packed in a short period of time. The pitch also conforms well to the settings we have available due to our access to the urban setting. Furthermore this pitch doesn't require props inaccessible to the group making it a great candidate. However, this pitch struggles with a lack of dialogue and it will be difficult to facilitate conversation throughout. I believe that despite this the pitch's positive aspects outweigh the negative ones because its exciting and is mysterious. A natural disaster knocks out the power in a city, forcing an evacuation but for one man something goes wrong.     This pitch has potential for success because the story presented has a lot of versatility and can go in many ways. The pitch also works well because it adheres to the amenities available to the s
